YMCA and Sustainability
YMCA Netherlands wants to become the most sustainable youth organisation of the Netherlands. There’s a lot of work to do if we wish to achieve this! Together we make youth work and our summer camps more fit for the future!

In 2021 YMCA Netherlands, in a cooperation with the SDG-house, enquired about its own aims of sustainability. The resulting report pointed-out four explicit SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) that fit YMCA Netherlands’ character and mission best. The corresponding report was also used as the base for Year plan 2023.
The following Sustainable Development Goals were selected:
- SDG 3: Good Health and Well- Being
- SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
- SDG 12: Responsible Consumptions and Production
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
YMCA Netherlands also has a Sustainability Commission. This commission aims as a platform to exchange knowledge and experience along the YMCA Network. This includes knowledge concerning sustainability, related fundraising and gives advise to the board of YMCA The Netherlands on sustainability-related issues.
