Since 2022 YMCA Netherlands has been involved in the Measuring Impact of Youth Organisations, in short: MIYO, project. This project is an initiative of the World Scout Movement (WOSM) in cooperation with YMCA Europe. YMCA Netherlands is part of this project in a consortium which includes the Czech, Irish, North-Macedonian, Swedish and Belgian Scouts, as well as a research team from Maynooth University in Ireland. The project largely funded by the European Commission.
This project aims to create a method of researching the impact of youth work activities all around the globe. To this end, it creates various tools and useful manuals needed to conduct such research. Project deliverables include an e-module, a survey and a guide for conducting field-group sessions. The project also included one Consultants’ training, aiming to train YMCAers and Scouts to take place to conduct future research into the impact of youth activities
From October to December, YMCA Netherlands is conducting it’s part of the project with surveys and focus-group session targeting 14-18 year old participants and volunteers of YMCA.
The project will be delivered in February 2024. Project results will be shared by YMCA Netherlands.
