With 2023 nearly over, YMCA Netherlands reflects on a moving and mobile year. YMCAers from the Netherlands have been heavily involved with many international projects, bringing them to the far corners of the world!
In January, Jessica Woiltala, Project Manager and Fundraiser of YMCA Europe, visited the Netherlands to engage with Dutch YMCA work.
In February, Christiaan van Dorssen visited YMCA Europe’s Refugee- work Conference in Gydinia, Poland.
Also in February, Valja van Dijk attended the Refugee work Summer Camp Training in the USA!
In May Members of the International Committee Louise Veldhuizen and Robin Remmerswaal were hosted in Avignon at YMCA France’s Partners’ meeting.
In June, a delegation of 10 Dutch YMCAers attended the celebration of 50th birthday of YMCA Europe in Berlin for an interesting programme on the implementation of the YMCA Vision 2030. And of course to meet and befriend international YMCAers.
In September Féline Bohm, current YMCA Impact-Consultant, attended a Consultant’s Training in Charleroi in Belgium. As a Consultant, she’s involved in the execution of the MIYO programme that YMCA Netherlands is involved in. During the training she got introduced to the concepts, methods and practical implications of impact-measurement in modern youth work. Want to know more of the MIYO Project? Click here.
In October, Maud Broek, Nyncke Kuperus and Valja van Dijk visited the ‘Give Peace a Chance’ Study Session, organised by YMCA Europe’s Roots For Peace Programme in Strassbourg, France.
In October a large group of international YMCAers visited the Netherlands to celebrate the 170th birthday of YMCA Netherlands with a two-day-long-event! Afterwards, YMCA Netherlands hosted the General Secretaries of the YMCAs of Europe in their annual NGS-meeting.
What will 2024 bring to the International YMCA Netherlands? A lot of exciting trainings, possibilities and activities are in stock, starting with the receiving of two international ESC volunteers!
